The gym is surprisingly nice and clean And very affordable especially when you compare it to many other gyms in Chicago. Its never really crowded in the afternoons which is nice. Lots of windows which allows for sunshine. Equipment is new and well maintained. Staff are really nice and professional. Locker rooms are clean too. And there is a sauna and steam room. I dont use the weight room or any courts but the main gym is awesome. Really good value

We love our Y The Kids Zone is great our kids 5 and 7 enjoy going there while we exercise and always look forward to their time there. The swim lessons are great as well and our kids have made a lot of progress. Very grateful for the kind and patient instructors

My family loves the YMCA We have done swim lessons summer camp both day and overnight and recently had a kids birthday party there. There adult yoga and fitness classes are great. The staff is wonderful in all areas of their operations and having a birthday party in their gym was a blast there is a bounce house and sports games. Consider taking a tour of the Y if you havent been before its a great family gym option.

Yoga classes with Cheryl are my absolute favorite. As a yoga beginner i was scared to start but she has been so helpful and welcoming. Recommend her classes for anyone who wants to try out yoga

Only hit the weight room this morning. Well maintained facility with a good variety of machines and quite a few squat racks. Dumbbells up to 100 pounds. They call it the Bears Den and its full of Bears memorabilia.

I had a class in this place. It was the hottest day of the year and the AC was not working They seem like they brought fans from home. It was still hot I suffered through the heat for 12 hours Am I going back Definitely not

They have affordable prices and a nice workoutweight room. Their racquetball courts need repair. Peeling paint with some cracked walls. Its very hot on the courts. I dont think the air conditioning works on the courts. There is only a fan to cool you down. I still need to try a class and swimming.

Our family stopped by for a tour recently and instantly felt welcomed by the staff. The facility is bright with historic touches. I personally find a lot of fitness centers to feel too expansive and overwhelming. The size and layout of this Y feels cozy but isnt at all crowded even on a Saturday morning. Leilanie guided us throughout the facility and was thorough in answering any questions we had. She made us feel at ease and like we already belonged to the Y. We werent planning on signing up right away when we initially set out to tour but ended up getting a family package. We are all excited to reach our health and community goals with the help of this Y. Thanks for a warm welcome Leilanie and everyone we encountered

Really disappointed with our experience with the Y especially because we wanted to love it. Pricing is very reasonable its wonderful that so many community members use and enjoy the facility and they did some lovely renovations with the aquatics department. However we found that the communication with the staff to be incredibly frustrating and woefully inconsistent. We were pretty disappointed with the skills of our swimming instructor though there were some very good teachers there. When our toddlers session ended my husband asked at the front desk if he needed to do anything else since we werent going to do another session. He was told by the staff that no there was nothing else needed and that our daughter would simply not be re-enrolled in classes. That was not the case though and we didnt realize we continued to be charged for months. When the error was discovered a staff member said she would try to get us a refund. By miles she was the most helpful person we encountered at the Y. Admin said no however and wouldnt even meet us halfway. They said it was our fault and that we had to put our cancellation in writing even though the desk staff told my husband the exact opposite. They couldnt even be bothered to respond to my email when I asked if there was any flexibility. There was absolutely no accountability on their end for what the staff member told us or the fact that they had messed up. Regrettably I dont think well be going back any time soon.

Theyre always accomodating and hospitable. We always feel like they are extended family whenever we need their services or have a special request.

The Ymca is a good and fun place and help my family learn help with homework and play sports
