I have been working with one of the attorneys Sam adams at IDR for 6-8 months now on a disability discrimination claim agianst my landlord. Its a case that involves my 83 yr old mother whom has alztymers and dementia. She was denied a home modification from our landlord out of retaliation over a refrigerator that the landlord had to replace. This is a home modification that was to be completelypaid for through the aged and disabled waiver. Theres no denying what happened and after all this time he tells me today that my only option is to go forward with the bath mod because she hired a lawyer and after a year shes not denying anymore. With less than a year left on our lease and landlord wont renew how is this even a option This is a one time opportunity for my mother who is in need of this. I just cant believe he told me that this isnt a case worth fighting for I asked him if this isnt what is He refused to answer me. They are suppose to be here for us the disabledhe said they dont have the resources or man power Then acted like he could care less What is my mother whom I care for suppose to do now

I cannot thank IDR enough for their actions on behalf of Indiana residents who have disabilities. When a county home was closing their attorneys advocated for those who couldnt speak up for themselves. IDR took action when most other attorneys would not.

Im very disappointed on how they deduct business. Mrs. Nickelson is the worst. I faxed over information and the school did as well she claimed she never received anything from neither one of us. I call BS now I have to start all over again. Thanks

This place is a joke I reached out in hopes that I could get help with the current place my family lived as we were kicked out due to noise complaints from my special needs children. Their cop out excuse to not helping was they didnt have enough staff but if I did a few more things then maybe theyd change their mind. Okay so you do have enough staff but you just dont wanna take on my case Got it. Then I reached out to them again on a separate issue trying to be proactive about the place were being shoved into so quickly and they refuse to even call me back and emailed me and said I already spoke to someone about a previous issue so they dont need to call again. Wow. So once again.. the special needs community and their families are failed and they wonder why we just stop caring altogether. What a shame and a waste of my time. Oh.. and theyve disabled reviews on their Facebook page. Imagine that. That tells me exactly what I need to know about the company.

Indiana Disability Rights is a sham organization. Their goal is not to protect individuals with disabilities but the agencies and institutions that abuse them. IDR turned a blind eye to the widespread patient deaths abuse and substandard living conditions in the state mental hospital system. And many of the IDR staff enjoy a private relationship with the organizations they are charged to investigate accepting expensive goods and services.
