All I wanted to know was whether this organization is taking new patients. The lady refused to answer this very simple question unless I gave her all my personal information including all my sons personal information. I didnt want to tell her this information just to be told they are closed to new patients or have a year long wait list like everyone else. Dont call these people they do not care.

I find it odd on poor reviews. I had great ABA services for my child at this location. My daughter has went from nonverbal to increasing her verbal skills. She has attended for 2 years. There is lots of improvement in her social skills communication and less stimming.

To start Footprints is a family run business owned and operated by minority women with a BCBA-D president. Unlike most of the ABA companies in Oregon being owned and operated by national corporations and private investment firms run by individuals not certified or licensed in the field.Footprints cares about its team members and families and it shows by the amount of individuals who call it home. Ive been employed with Footprints for 11 years and there are many other employees who have been here long before I.

We have been working with Footprints for almost 6 years and love them The benefits of ABA have been huge for our family. We were very lucky to have Hugh work with us for 3 years. The consistency for our family was such an amazing experience He was so patient and wonderful He was eager to share his knowledge and help us use techniques to improve behavior. We have worked with so many professionals thru Footprints - Julie Kyle and Anita have all helped with goals and answered our many questions over the years. Alexis has limitless patience with scheduling and deals with our changes so well. Brandon is our current therapist and has a great relationship with our family. We appreciate all the staff and their dedication to helping families.Melanie Derek

PositiveCommunicationProfessionalismThe therapists weve worked with have been so incredibly helpful They are great at identifying the reasons my child is acting out and helping our family to teach our child appropriate ways of getting these needs met

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this company. On one hand we have had some really amazing ABA therapists with them I can name 5 off the top of my head. I can also name 7 really bad ones off the bat right now. One did some major damage that my kid is still trying to recover for almost a year later. So here are the good things first. Lots of the therapists are willing to go on outing with you and your family. The company always you to ask your therapist to go on weekend outings with you like swimming and other stuff like sledding on days that they do not normally work if they are ok doing it and you have the hours. Amanda the lady who runs the phone is amazing she works hard to get you what you need.I have had a ABA therapists go out of her way with the Companys blessing to make a Weighted blanket for my son since I could not afford to buy one at the Time. Bought all the Material myself and the therapist made it on her own time. They had a great Halloween party for the kids and family this year. This was the 1st Time they had ever done something like thisWe had one ABA therapist since my son was 3 years old going on 7 and a half. She Help my child learn how to speak. She is very near and dear to all of our hearts. She is the one who did the weighted blanket. She also with the companys blessing made a weighted vest. I had to buy the materials. Here are the BADD thingsthing.one therapists was mentally abusive and I fired her and she still tried to hurt my family by talking to other stuff that worked with us. She lied about our other therapist that we had for 4 and a half years and trying to get them fired On multiple occasions. Cory one of the head leaders did nothing to stop this behavior. Or to stop her from telling our personal information to anyone who would listen within the company. She still tried to dictate how our case was being handled by telling our new supervisor replacement what they should be doing. She also tried to get foot prints to put the cabassu on a friendship I made with someone who also has footprints as their there ABA company for there kid.The turn over is high in this company I went through 6 therapist and a month. I had a therapist play on there cellphone all the time company did not stop it and that therapist was not listening to the criteria the company set down with me. He also tried to talk politics with our son. He was more intrested in being a friend to my husband and watching TV with him then doing his job. He also tried to take my kid into the bedroom 1 on 1 and shut the door. We fired him that day.Another staff member was encourage our kids to do dangerous things and would not listen when we told her that would not stand and she said she was the ABA therapists so what she said goes. So we told Foot prints we wanted her gone. Foot prints Response to us was trying to retrain her on the job at my house and she did not listen to them. They sill wanted us to work with Her and then we keep trying to retrain her on the job. We told them know that that was not reasonable .We had a nother staff member Who showed up less than half the time she was supposed to work. She was good at her job but she was hardly ever there so I let her go. Then I favorite supervisor left thats when we got the supervisor from h The mentally abusive one When we fired her or she got our other ABA their past Removed from our case along with her the one that had been with us for years. She told that therapist that she was going to pull herself from our case or she was going to get her fired. We pulled our older child from their program after that.We have one kid still with the company but that is only because his supervisor and his team members are perfect match for him. But if the same stuff starts to happen with him as it did with our other kid we are prepared to quit the company all together. We already have a new ABA services for our other kid and They are prepared And willing to take our 2nd child as well if things go South.

Very worst experience. Didnt help at all. Therapists were not experienced and just used to come and sit and look at watch to go back. They used to ask us what to do today. Whenever I used to ask them something they used to tell me to talk to Corey their Supervisor...Complete waste for time and lot of money..as I got special insurance coverage for this thing...DONT WASTE YOUR TIME BEHIND THEM... THEY ARE USING YOUR MISERY and HELPLESSNESS...I am being very straightforward and honest based on my experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy rooted in the science of learning and behavior. Using principles of ABA, children and adults can learn to improve their communication skills, social skills, and daily living skills while also addressing problematic or challenging behaviors. The primary goal of ABA therapy is to teach helpful skills that promote independence and reduce harmful behaviors. Here's our complete guide to everything you need to know about ABA therapy.
It's a big decision to make for your family! Applied behavior analysis (ABA) seeks to improve communication skills, introduce productive habits, and reduce harmful behaviors. Watch out for ABA providers who look to "cure" autism.
High quality ABA therapy does exist where the goal is not to “fix” children, make them appear “less autistic”, or change who they are. The goal is to help people learn all that they can so they can live to their potential while embracing their unique, individual personality traits. Here's our complete guide to start and end ABA therapy.
ABA is usually covered by insurance if you have an autism diagnosis. Autism is typically the only diagnosis insurance will authorize for ABA services since its benefits have been researched extensively.
Always check with your specific insurance plan to confirm that ABA is covered for your child’s diagnoses and that the provider you are seeking care at is in-network. Here's our complete guide to everything you need to know about ABA therapy.
“Early Intervention” might be the provider’s way of describing services that they provide to babies or young children. However, it might also indicate that the provider is a vendor for your state’s publicly funded program. This means the services with this provider might be covered by your state!
The first step in accessing these free services from your state is to get an evaluation. The evaluation will help the state determine what services your child qualifies for, if any. You can find your state’s local EI program by clicking here.
When you contact your local center, say “I have concerns about my child’s development and I would like to have my child evaluated to find out if they are eligible for early intervention services.” They will ask screening questions and arrange for an evaluation, which is provided for free.
If your child does not qualify, you can ask your school to evaluate your child for a 504 plan. This article provides more information about the differences between IEPs and 504s.
This happens. The results of the school’s evaluation may be different than your child’s medical diagnosis. It’s also important to remember that school is NOT the final say on your child’s potential. They may offer very little support to your child, underestimate their abilities, or disagree with you on what support your child needs. You will probably need to advocate for the services and support you believe your child needs.
Even if a provider offers parent training, it may look different from one provider to another. For example, an in-home provider might conduct a parent training session directly following a therapy session with your child to help explain what they’ve been working on with your child. At larger organizations, you might have a support group of families who are dealing with similar issues.
