Dungarvin needs a serious audit on the work they claim. It is now the third time i have heard of this so called non profit not actually helping the truly needy finding a job and or even reaching any sense of support. year. The median estimated compensation for executives at Dungarvin including base salary and bonus is 232169 or 111 per hour. At Dungarvin the most compensated executive makes 700000 annually..Follow the money to wonder why our capitalist system does not work.An easy 500000.00 could be used a year if not double that just to actually go to the services they claim to provide in fake citys. Metzger ave location is a fine example.Follow the money.

Some things to consider when working in a group home settingYou must report abuse and neglect IMMEDIATELY. If you do not its going to look very suspicious when someone else reports it and you didnt speak up. If you do end up having to file a report YOU CAN DO IT ANONYMOUSLY.Pretty much everything you write down or sign is some kind of legal document in this industry. Strive to be precise. Remember what you learned in training. If youre playing on your phone youre not watching the client. There may be lots of down time depending on the clients you work with but playing on your phone is a very poor excuse if you end up neglecting other duties. Remember what you learned in training. If your supervisor tells you not to document something that seems worth documenting THATS A RED FLAG. You should know better. Remember what you learned in training. If your coworkers arent documenting things that should be documented talk with them and then move up the chain of command. Do not let this stuff slide. Thats how things end up swept under the rug. Without documentation its hard to PROVE something happened. DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS CAN TYPICALLY BE FOUND IN THE ISPBSPs.What is the client youre serving allergic to Are you CERTAIN that what youre feeding them doesnt contain that You might be surprised. It only takes a few seconds to check for an allergy warning on most packaged foods. Remember what you learned in training.Understanding individual support plans and behavioral support plans is VITAL to the well being of the people you serve. If you dont understand them or understand why theyre important ask around. DO NOT STOP ASKING until you get a clear answer and understanding of what they are and why theyre important. Remember what you learned in training. If you notice that theres sections of your training manual and personnel policies missing just ask HR if they can send you the missing sections. You must be paid for the hours you work. I would strongly recommend that you write down your hours in some sort of booklet with dates and specific times. If you feel that your pay doesnt reflect the work youve done you can typically request a digital report that logs your clock in and clock out times but that wont mean a lot if you dont have your own record to compare it to.If you have a family member receiving services its probably a good idea to occasionally check in on them or at the very least request documentation about what theyre doing on a regular basis.THE WORK YOURE DOING IS IMPORTANT. I know youre probably burnt out I know youre tired I know its hard I know the turnover in this industry is absurd I know the pay doesnt reflect the work I know its not glamorous... But youre supporting vulnerable people and thats something worth being PROUD of. Not everyone can do this job and if youre doing your job well then youre someones superhero. Keep fighting. Its worth it. Stay strong.Remember what you learned in training.

This company really cares about clients. Care is provided in a setting with a high care giver to resident ratio. Staff go through two weeks of training where most facilities just put staff right out with no training.

If youre looking for experienced and compassionate care for a severely disabled individual this is not the place youll find it. We recently had a horrible experience with Dungarvin At first they seem very capable and said they were going to help with everything from guardianship to behavior analysis etc. We have a severely disabled member of our family who cannot talk walk eat etc. and has very specific needs. We were assured they had experienced qualified staff. What we got was a woman who had never worked in the medical field never even cared for a child let alone a disabled individual whom they only trained in CPR and first aid. After three near incidents someone was always next to her as we had to attempt to train in her in the specifics therefore they corrected or caught our member of the family before he could get injured she hit my disabled family members head into a faucet to which she lied saying he didnt hit his head over and over. She wasnt mean so we believed her and yes when a member of the family is injured out of negligence tensions are high and we told her to leave the house she had already had three other near-incidents as previously stated. We tried to contact any of the emergency numbers we were provided and no one answered. Later we realized there was a huge lump on our disabled family members head and realized that the caregiver had lied to us and that she had hit his head on the faucet. As stated he cannot talk so we didnt realize until later in the afternoon. A day later the head supervisor contacted us and he did not ask how our member of the family was instead he only denied that the employee he sent out had hit his head on anything saying he had it documented. He also continued to say we had a hostile environment therefore he would not be sending anyone else out. He only was worried about the legality and profits and he believed we were going to sue him and the company which was completely irrational. He even went so far as to accuse us of making up the lump on my disabled family members head. I am appalled that people are so uncaring but then again this is a for-profit company it is a business not a compassionate quality resource for any who are seeking help with caring for an individual.
