This man did nothing but insult me the entire result evaluation for my daughter with learning disabilities. I cried the entire visit when you seek help and advocate hard for your child you are dammed if you do and dammed if you dont. My child received her diagnosis but not without me being ripped to shreds for genetic disorders I can not help. I pride myself in the care she receives and not letting her fall through the cracks. This man is what is wrong with our systems today. I recommend seeking care else where so you and your child get the proper help.

What kind of man tells a mother and father of an autistic child that there son is nothing more than completely retarted and will never be anything more than that And then apologizes for what he says is simply the truth This man Dr childers. This is the evaluation he gave us about our son - our son is at the top of his class and scores higher on testing than anyone in the entire school . Not to bad for a misdiagnosed. What a joke

I have been waiting for over 6 months for an appointment for my 3 year old son who isnt speaking but a few words. Every time I call I hear they are overwhelmed with referrals and they only have one person doing the appointment coordination and they wont hire another person to help. I dont even get calls back when I ask for the coordinator to call me. Im waiting for a call back from the manager who isnt even there but after reading such horrific reviews about how parents are spoken to by this so called doctor and for him to even say these nasty things about CHILDREN is appalling. I will NOT be taking my son there. If he even tried to speak to me the way Ive read or if he ever said such nasty things about my child to me it would go extremely bad for him. I wont even put my child in such a monsters care.

Please avoid this physician at all cost. He shouldnt be diagnosing. My son has seen 3 different physicians in the field and with 4 different therapist ABA OT ST and all 8 individuals do not recommend this monster. Dr Childers misdiagnosed my son recommend cruel punishments for my 5 yr old misbehavior. I dont understand how he is still in practice.

I wont share too many details. I will say the dr disturbed us greatly. Many outlandish and offensive comments. Think carefully before subjecting your child to this.Doctor a word of advice.NEVER and I mean NEVER tell a mother to not tend to her child. It took everything I had not to put you in your place.P.S.NOBODY CARES HOW YOU RAISED YOUR CHILDREN

I saw some of the other posts and wanted to share my experience also. My son was seen several years ago and it seems Dr Childers is still his charming self. My son was already very ADHD at the time but unable to walk very well. I was concerned about his lack of ability and asked Dr Childers opinion about physical therapy. His answer and I quote Do you really want him getting around any better than he already is I was shocked. I said Yes. I want him to be able to do everything he can. I left confused and insulted. His educated opinion means little to me.

Most unprofessional horrifying experience. Took my son there 2 years ago for an evaluation he was 3. Im writing this now because Im far enough away from the traumatizing experience with the doctor who essentially said all of the things below in one short visit seemingly deriving pleasure from seeing our response to his outlandish comments-His type usual ends up in the prison system though maybe if you are lucky you can manage to keep him out because of his environment.-No need to do anything extra for him because early intervention is useless and a complete waste of your money. Just stop everything. No speech therapy. They are just taking your money.-Youll probably end up getting divorced-Perhaps you have ADD. Suddenly he was diagnosing me after meeting me once-His gap with peers will only get bigger and he may stay stunted.-Hell never go to regular school because hell get eaten alive.-Give up the notion of a typical public school education and go see Keystone and other highly specialized schools. You have to face it now. Normal school isnt an option.- Oh and he the Dr. should probably be on medication but isnt bc of his profession.Happy to report after initial tears we didnt pay mind to his opinions. We followed our instinct and advice of other sound professionals continuing on with early intervention of speech and OT keeping him in his mainstream nursery school. Our son is now in public school in a mainstream KG class THRIVING and his general developmental delay label was lifted. It was this great school report that prompted me to finally expose what we went through. Not only was this doctor completely off base in his findings his insensitive delivery and complete lack of professionalism in this situation was insane.Believe the awful reviews out there stay away. Whatever your situation there are other reputable professionals who can deliver the services and information you need. And even amongst the professionals there are major grumblings about this maniacal doctor and his erratic behavior.

I was reminded to review him after News4jax used him for an autism piece highlighting 2 families. My daughter waited for a year to see this so called autism guru. Only to be evaluated by a student who found her not to be autistic... while my daughter was currently stemming not making eye contact and only answered 1 question when asked aside from her constant echolalia... Needless to say it was quite a disheartening experience overall and set us back a year as her primary pediatrician was banking on him being able to help her. I eventually went the Early Steps route and that seems to be doing much better. By the way every other doctor and outside resource like Brooks Rehab all identify her as autistic.

I can not sing enough praises for Dr.Childers and his staff. My son was treated with the upmost respect and care. The knowledge that was giving to my husband and I is unbelievable. The empathy and true concern Dr. Childers showed us will forever impact me. Within minutes its obvious this is not just his job but something he has devoted most his life to. You will never regret taking your child here. I feel blessed to have his help in this new journey of our lives. Thank you Dr. Childers and staff

After everything I read was a little nervous about Dr.Childers testing and procedures.Waited 18 plus months but worth the wait. He is very open and honest He provided so much imformation and resources.A diagnosis and info on iep school help behavior plans medical advice and family wellness .I am very picky and I would definitely recommend him. Dont let the bad reviews stop you from finding out the answers. He was great
