Dr. Gould has been taking care of me for over 22 years starting at age 17 when we were referred to him from my PCP for depression. Dr. Gould has never let me down. He always gets my meds in and has always gone out of his way to fill out any necessary paperwork I needed for leave from work medical withdrawals as a college student when I was struggling and letters of recommendation to go back to my college and for bariatric surgery. As far as some of the other reviews go on here about being over medicated- sometimes you have to try different combos and dosages to find the sweet spot and not something that can be fixed overnight. Its a process. Overall Dr. Gould is a wonderful Psychiatrist and Im thankful to be under his care His assistant Diane is always professional and kind as well Love the zoom appointment options too I can always rest assured knowing that if I have an issue hell get back to me same day.

It scares me to see that this man is still in practice and in fact still has his license. When I was 16 and 17 years old I was under Dr. Goulds care outpatient and was seeing him due to PTSD Depression Anxiety and a lot of unresolved trauma. No doubt that the things I had went through were very traumatic for the ages in which they were experienced he would just jump to heavy medication without an exact reasoning. I was still depressed but even as he kept overmedicating me and my parents expressed concerns his answer in our meeting with him was I would rather overdose her than underdose her..... huge red flag. Because of that medication it had me non-functional to where I was taken out of school and it contributed to a suicidal episode. While in the ER during that time even the doctors treating me could not believe what I was prescribed when asked what prescriptions I take daily. The ER nurses exact words were that cant be right.... youre 95 pounds on doses that would knock a middle aged man out. I was on 60mg of Prozac 100mg of Triazadone 10mg of Valium three times a day every single day.. and he wanted to up it in the meeting where my parents addressed being over medicated. I couldnt even stay awake while I was talking or doing the simplest tasks. They had to take me off of the medications while in the ER completely and start new ones paired with phenobarbital for withdrawal symptoms. During my stay the phenobarbital had to be abruptly stopped as it lowered my pulse way too much and with that being said resulted in me suffering seizures that lasted for over a month until my body adjusted to the new SAFE medications. When my body adjusted to the new medications and I continued with outpatient therapy elsewhere things progressively got better. But Dr. Gould and his treatment absolutely traumatized me and put me through so much more than what I needed to go through. And to read reviews throughout the years since my treatment back in 2015-2016 to now it looks like things havent changed. Maybe the Board needs to take patient experience into consideration before awarding reinstatement of licensure.

It took my child going into a residential facility to realize that he had over medicated my child. He didnt listen when we both told him the sleeping medication wasnt helping he just kept upping it. I understand that there is a lack of child psychiatrist in the area and you may be overwhelmed but thats no excuse. Now I question everything a doctor tells us and have no issue going head head to head.

I worked with him for 2 years and saw NO progress at all. Please consider a psychiatrist who will take you seriously Dr. Gould will not. This is no exaggeration he was late to EVERY appointment I had with him by at LEAST one hour sometimes two. Then hed speak to me for 10 minutes at MOST each time and hed ask the same generic questions. Are you suicidal Do you feel good or bad lately Hows school that was basically it and then hed change my medication almost every visit as if that wasnt going take even more of a toll on my mental health because he never prescribed anything that worked.I got extremely fed up and on the day that he was 2 hours late to our scheduled appointment I told him to his face that he has not helped me and I want to switch to a different psychiatrist. He did not bat an eye or offer any explanation as to his negligence. Now I see Dr. K at the same clinic and he is IMMEASURABLY more professional personal and effective. I have been going through tons of ineffective therapists psychiatrists and medications over the years. Please believe me when I say a lot of psychiatrists will neglect you as a patient and see nothing wrong with it that is their usual practice. Often times theyre just playing a guessing game of which pill will work for you - thats not how you treat mental illness. I am now studying to be a psychiatrist myself because the negligence I witnessed was outrageous to me and I want to provide something better.Im writing this review 3 years after I left Gould and I still boil inside knowing he works here and is likely screwing over everyone else. If you have success with him I am so happy for you but I would never ever recommend his work to anyone personally. Ever. Be VERY picky when it comes to your doctors - thats YOUR health they need to be taking seriously.PS - Dr. K is never late. It is not normal for Gould to have literally never been on time for any of our appointments in 2 years. He genuinely does not care about his patients.

Does not give any explanation of medications as to why Im receiving them. Ive been with him since I was thirteen and he continually ignores my bad symptoms and keeps me on the medications even if they do not work. The only way he combats my symptoms is by giving me another medication that does not help and only makes me worse by being dependent on another medication. Gould does not listen to me about my issues and only does what he believes is right granted I am not a doctor but I know my body and my brain more than he does - and hes telling me things that are happening to me that are not. Not only this but I have to get my parents involved I am NINETEEN every single time that I have an issue with my medication a negative symptom that has been affecting my body badly or even just to get a change in my prescriptions because he refuses to believe me on anything. I have been with him for sixish years and I have never been treated so negatively by a doctor.

On occasion I had to wait 15 minutes but the practices that are right on time are few and far between. That is to be expected if you want quality health care. I have complete confidence in Dr. Gould and my grandson does not mind going to him even when we have to wait.

He provides a good service and once we get in to see him were happy. The complaints about having to wait are accurate though. The past two appointments for example Ive had to wait at least 1.5 hours before being seen and Im always about 10 minutes early for my appointment. Its incredibly frustrating.

Dr. Gould is a nice psychiatrist however the wait is ridiculous Ive waited 2 and a half hours to meet with him for 10 minutes Yesterday I had an appointment at 520 and I was 6 minutes late and he left before I got there I think that is absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional.

HORRIBLE PRACTICE - SO UNPROFESSIONALDr Gould was at least 2-3 hours late for every single appt that we had we were always 15 mins early. We were never told about the lateness until we arrived and always after we payed our copay. Then Dr Gould would spend less than 10 mins with my daughter and never asked her more than maybe a few questions about how she likes school and what she was doing on the weekends. Then when I called and tried to get her records to transfer to another physician I was told it would take 2 weeks in order to get her records. The practice manager I spoke to was very sympathetic and understanding but Im not sure anything will help due to the way the practice wants to run.
