Awful experience. In town for a week and came to work out and the front desk could provide zero help getting a day pass or a week pass or even a month pass. Literally referred me to a different gym. Said it was due to pandemic policies and that the Y lost so much money even though its 2022. Doesnt seem like its going to help them recover if they turn away new customers at the front door

Overall this is an excellent place to workout. Its usually not overcrowded and they have enough squat racks that I never have to wait to use the barbell for squats or bench presses. There are a few staff members that are very friendly and welcoming. My only real critique is that they dont do a good job of keeping kids from playing around in the weightlifting area. On one occasion two kids they looked to be around 10-12 years old were pulling on the cable machiene then lauching themselves into the air. One of the managers of the Y was there giving a tour to someone and he didnt say anything. Eventually someone who was working out came over and told the kids to stop.

I attempted to put my five year old son into the Summer Power program. We had a terrible experience at the first day drop off. The staff was incompetent to the point where I couldnt leave him in their care safely. Repeated attempts to discuss what happened were ignored and my money went down the drain. This is not a safe place to leave your young child. I was so disappointed.

I used to love the Blaisdell Y but Im afraid its not what I remember. My partner and I signed up for a trail membership online and no one ever reached back out to us - the confirmation email stated they would call us we gave them over a week. So we went in to the building to talk with someone in person. Sultan the membership team member we spoke to took us on a tour and when it came to sign up for the trial pass told us we couldnt sign up without a MN state ID which we later found out isnt true and honestly didnt really seem to care or that helpful. Both my partner and I brought in our passport which is a valid form of ID. So when we left after getting denied we called the general YMCA membership line and was told that a passport should have been accepted as a valid form of ID and didnt quite understand why it wasnt accepted. My partner and I called the Blaisdell Y to let them know a passport should have been accepted and we should have been able to sign up for the membership. However no one answered and so we left a voicemail and of course no one has yet to return our call. We ended up going to the Midway YMCA and we were very pleased with the customer service there and were able to sign up for a trail pass with our passports. The staff who helped us Alex was very friendly and let us know about current enrollment promotions and let us know hell be following up with us before our trail ends to see if we want to enroll at the Midway Y

I appreciate the staff and feeling of security upon entering the building. They stop you no matter what and make you either scan your ID or your membership...
