I had a tour to see if this facility would be a good fit for my son. The person conducting the tour could not answer any question that I had except to say that a developmentally delayed person had to be toilet trained. Some people with developmental disabilities might not ever accomplish this ability despite other abilities they may have already accomplished. When I asked about a one on one aide that the Division of Developmental Disabilities would pay for since my son also elopes she couldnt answer whether or not this would be acceptable either. At the same time she was pushing a hard sale for this day program out one side of her mouth while she was telling me how my son wouldnt qualify out of the other. The client to staff ratio did not seem appropriate and with the exception of the work program clients seemed bored and unengaged with staff and each other.

Ive always thought this place was a really good organization to help out people who cant get jobs and regular work environments. I worked the coffee shop when it was just starting and I met some really good personalities and made some really nice friendships. If youre needing a resource to help you find jobs or even get a job there or a temporary job to get experience this is the place to go. You may have to be referred by a Kodak or cope a place like that.

I was told the transportation for my nephew would be through a medical transportation service ... Not true instead he arrives by Lyft and they are not a medical transport company. I filed a complaint with the State of Arizona. You people should not allow mentally disabled adults that think like 12-year-olds to get in basically a persons car. I am glad we removed our nephew

I use to work here and since I have been gone for over 3 years I figure its time for a review. The problem I had was some of the managers didnt deserve to be in the position they were in. They got hired because they were friends with the higher ups. For what we had to do we didnt get paid much to support a family and the health insurance you paid for was pretty much your whole paycheck. I am glad I left before I was diagnosed with my disabilities from the Army. This is just one persons point of view

Stop using Lyft to drive your mentally disabled people home . You are aware that Lyft isnt a medical transport companyAnd not qualified to deal with emergency situationsGet s bus and drive them yourselfI am calling the state to inform them what you do to get free transportation to the mental health people stop stop

For a place that works with the disabled the administration needs to learn how to deal with the public and learn respect and courtesy. The program director for the WOLVES program NEVER returns phone calls and will look at you and decide if she wants to work with you. She did that and told her assistant that I had to talk to someone else and she was too busy to handle my questions.

Took my disabled son here for a tour and to discuss services. Described his needs including staffing levels. Was assured they could provide it. There is nothing we havent dealt with I was explicitly told. A week later I contacted them to find out what was going on. They put me off. Two weeks after that our support coordinator contacted us Beacon didnt bother and said that they refused to provide the staffing levels they had previously said were fine. If you want to entrust your disabled family members to people who lie evade and jerk you around Beacon is the place for you As annoyed as I am I am at least relieved that my son was never left in the care of these particular liars.

I got to do an observation and things went smooth staff is friendly and so is the Clientele. Very clean and nice and cool inside. Maybe strange to say but it smells good too.

I actually came to beacon through wap. I enjoyed learning and working with the shredding department and all that it entails. However I believe that the program I came through is bs and that they really arent interested on seeing you succeed its about who you know and if they like you. I was blessed to be in shredding. Lets leave it there

This group is a wonderful organization that provides employment to adults with developmental delays. It is run by persons with disabilities who understand the challenges and needs of their constituents. Real work is being done at beacon. It serves as a clearing house for small businesses like desert harvesters who publish a few books and need someone to handle orders that need to be fulfilled and shipped to customers. I highly recommend this organization.
