Theyre nice and honestly there for you. They do what they can to make you feel safe. You get your own room and they have a laundry facility.Not a lot of places offer you your own room for mental health services.They really focus on you and make sure that you are okay. They prescribe medication to help you with your symptoms.They have a really nice cafeteria and their food is amazing.Banner health is really good with helping people and I feel they should expand their mental health services to out patient services.They really helped me and they have saved my life several times. No one wants to experience mental health issues but if you are banner behavioral is one of the best places to go.

Best mental health care facility by far from one crazy to another. They really take care of you hereespecially if you are voluntarily committing yourself which was my situation. Friendly staff everyone really listens to you good food fun activities. I really enjoyed my stay there while I was working on getting into a better headspace. Thank you all.

I was admitted under a lot of stress as are most people that stay there. But they really helped me feel safe and genuinely cared for. They didnt just ask the typical any thoughts of hurting yourselfothers. They also asked follow up questions like whats making you feel that way. Ive stayed in at least 4 hospitals and theyve never asked me follow up questions like that.Yes there were one or two employees that were a bit rough around the edges. But for the most part they were all wonderful.I have to thank Dr Lindsey specifically because he started me on a med that really helps. After spending so much time on and off of meds that made me feel bad it feels like a miracle that he actually found something that works for me.Im surprised that their ratings are relatively low because I and one other person I know both had great experiences there. Guess it just depends on the person.

The staff are generally very friendly and supportive. Its definitely not perfect but overall it might just be the best mental health facility in Arizona

Probably one of the best emergency psych hospitals in AZ. To many people to thank there for helping during a couple really hard years.Hanks groups were fun and definitely helped.. His humor with real insight into recovery made me grasp the message and gave me hope.Special thanks to the nurse Jane for discharging me so promptly.. and actually caring about my needs while I was there. All nurses and techs at Banner did a great job.Ive seen all doctors there as well and you cant go wrong with either of them.I hope this be my last visit and I would definitely recommend coming here if youre 5150. Much better than other places I have been to.Its not my intention to kiss butt.. I am feeling very good out and I am very grateful for the help I received there and I have hope with my future into recovery.Charles

staff was so friendly and the food was good. my first and last day there were as amazing as they could be however SHARON was so mean. she acted like us CHILDREN wanted to be there and made it her personal goal to see us suffer. she would ignore us on purpose separate us for no reaosn not let us have friends or socialize and overall just said very rude comments several times. many of us struggled enough being there and we didnt need her belittling us as well.thank you to all the staff members who were kind though. you all deserve the world 33

I was forced to stay here twice in 2019. Both times were mandated by my high school at the time. I wasnt really a danger to myself or others. But I was certainly treated like one. Being held down drugged forced to take medication not on my registered list often treated differently for no reason. I wasnt allowed to just sleep without being punished.The only good thing that came out of this was my Seroquel prescription.Dont come here. This place will worsen your condition.

They get one star as you must give them at least one. I put my minor daughter in here and they will give your child drugs without your consent and ask for...

This place is absolutely amazing. Jay is the bestgreat man. Just one of many whom work there. I love all these bad reviews too. Complaining about the foodwhich if you went down stairs to the cafeteriathen you know its better then not 9 times out of 10. Ohand guess what elseyou dont like the foodyou can order other thingsjust have to pay out of pocket. Cause they are not a charity. Another thing that makes me laugh is about medication complaints. You are there for a reasoncause you couldnt stop taking too many of your medsof you wouldnt take them correctly. Theybare thee to teach you how to be better. But it ultimately is up to the individual. The husband saying he only had crackers and cheese is the funniest one yet. Means he couldnt act like an adult and join the other adults in the cafeteria. Pathetic to say the least. Againthey are all wonderful with very few exceptions. But nothing is perfect. Its been 13 years ago this month that this place destroyed my sons life. He went in presenting with psychosis he was lethargic confused tired and mood swings at the age of 16. When we first got there the medical staff spoke with us and said they would check him out medically to make sure this wasnt a medical issue and his medical needs if any would be met. They came back and told me his thyroid levels were off and they would treat that but acted like it was no big deal. Then they went on to diagnose him with bipolar and put him on lithium and a bunch of other medication. Guess what the lithium and none of those other meds ever helped him because he never had bipolar. Because of their diagnosis every other doctor ignored everything with the thyroid and kept just focusing on bipolar until we moved to Colorado . In 2018 he was finally diagnosed with autism spectrum then in 2019 he was diagnosed with Hashimotos which is an autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid plus cause all kinds of other health problems. When they saw that is saw a problem with his thyroid at this hospital they should have done the antibody test at that point. Because giving someone with Hashimotos lithium can only complicate things. His now endocrinologist says that the hospital should have checked his TPO antibodies and never have prescribed him lithium as that only made things worse for his Hashimotos.Please what ever you do for yourself or your children run from this place.I can tell from most of the post on here that nothing has changed with this place in 13 years.Please do not have anyone from this hospital comment on my post I dont want your sorrys they are nothing but a way to try and make this hospital look like they actually care. Guess they dont care or they would talk all of the complaints seriously and start changing the way they do things. These people that come to you are real human beings and deserve better so if you are truly sorry than do better and train your staff better.

This facility is really not one of the best options for mental health treatment. The therapy here is subpar facilitators lack the ability to be able to handle patients who are upsetcryingfighting unable to get the patients back on topic most of the time. They stray from the topic presented and instead introduce a free for all for the patients. The psychiatrists rotate so one may listen to you and the next may not even know what youre talking about unless they read your notes from the previous days. Medication that you dont need added onto your current dosages is heavily forced down your throat here even when you explain that you are content with your current dosages and regimen. As soon as I expressed I wasnt happy with how the doctors were treating me and not listening they shut down and dismissed me not wanting to further hear my concerns.The only thing giving this place an extra star has to be the BHTs and nurses. They are quite literally the only people who truly listen to you and care about what you have to say about your own treatment. The food is also decent but if you have to stay on unit then you will most likely be skipping at least one meal a day due to poor quality compared to in the cafe. Overall Id choose somewhere else to provide adequate care for myself or my loved one if they ever needed it.
