Our 5 year old daughter needed help with articulation and worked with Susanne at Austin Area Speech over the past several months and we could not be more grateful. Susannes experience and gentle approach time honed techniques enabled our daughter to improve her articulation rapidly and have fun while she was working on it. It made a huge difference both for her own self esteem as well as in her interactions with peers and adults. We loved working with Susanne and highly recommend her and Austin Area Speech Language

It was very hard to understand my preschool-age son and it was causing a lot of frustration for him. Our pediatrician recommended speech therapy and Im so glad we contacted Susanne.She is warm caring and really connects and engages with her kids. We actually miss our weekly sessions with her. Each session would usually consist of playing gamesactivities while working on the words and sounds followed by some weekly practice to do at home. She even made accommodations and found ways to work best with my sons high energy.I am absolutely amazed at the transformation in my sons speech after a year of working with Susanne. Friends and family have commented recently on how clearly he speaks now and strangers can actually understand him. He has so much to say and talks so much more now than before. Susanne is simply wonderful. She truly has a gift and passion for working with children. Our daughter was reluctant to go to speech therapy but with Susanne she made significant progress and even grew to love her sessions. Susanne is flexible and accommodating with ever changing schedules shes understanding and warm and most of all she truly loves and cares for her clients. I am so grateful to her and the support she offered our family over the years. Truly Susanne and her team are outstanding.

We saw Holly while we were at Austin Area Speech Language for Speech therapy. We only left because we moved and it wasnt convenient for us to travel to their offices.Holly is not only a talented knowledgable therapist but she was also a team mate and advocate for our son while we were under her care. She connected with my son and made an effort to truly know him. She was always prepared for our sessions and you could tell how much care and thought when into her planning. The guidance she offered me was priceless. Raising a child takes a village and Im so grateful Holly is part of ours.

If you are looking for top results Susanne and her team will help you get there. One on one progress is superior to the group format in public schools. She had my two second grade boys master their s and r areas in less than nine months. She targets well and corresponds with homeworkwhich is just five to ten minutes a day. Her connection to her students and methods of keeping them on track are of a master. We will miss her and her attention to detail. This clinic is a gem.

Susanne was a joy to work with and my 10 year-old daughter LOVED going to speech therapy. My daughter had struggled with r sounds for years. The excellent speech therapist at her elementary school couldnt give her the one-on-one time she needed. Luckily I found Susanne. In just three months Susanne gave her the tools and exercises she needed to finally say essential words like are or world forever thirty forty clearly and with confidence My daughter was SAD to end her sessions with Susanne and joked she would mess-up her r sounds so that she could spend more time with Miss Susanne. I couldnt recommend her more

I never imagined I would be sad seeing my son graduate from speech therapy but I found myself on the verge of tears when he finished his last session recently. Suzanne taught both my children to master those tricky Rs and my kids genuinely looked forward to their appointments. My son would often tell me he was saving up his stories all week to tell Ms. Suzanne. In addition to being warm and awesome at her job Suzanne is straightforward and has high expectations you need to practice the assignments with your child at home. My daughter finished speech therapy in just a few months and my son shortly thereafter. It is clear to me that both my kids gained confidence from their experience with Suzanne at AASL. As we were visiting Austin for several weeks this summer and my older son has been working on his r sounds heading into 4th grade I wanted to continue his speech therapy. After researching a number of companies in the Austin area prior to our visit I contacted AASTLS and exchanged emails with the owner Susanne. Shortly thereafter we spoke on the phone.I was so impressed by Susannes responsiveness and understanding of my sons impediment we were eager for our first visit. As I am writing this review we have had four truly phenomenal sessions with Susanne and my son has made more progress in his r sounds than he has in the past 1.5 years with his speech therapist back home. And I promise that is not an exaggeration.Susanne DeJernett is an incredible speech therapist. She is warm and engaging and my son truly looks forward to his sessions. She is kind and understanding but has high expectations of practice and progress. My son is determined to make his time with Mrs. DeJernett count and frequently asks if I think Mrs. DeJernett will be proud of him. Finding AASTLS and Susanne is absolutely the best thing that could have happened this summer and I am so grateful for everything she has done for my son. I highly recommend AASTLS to anyone who is seeking speech therapy I cannot image a better place...anywhere.
