Saw him when I was at Ridgeview institute under the age of 18 I was heavily prescribed and misdiagnosed for bipolar. The prescription was so high within 30 minutes of taking it I would pass out where ever I was. I now have permanent shaking due to it. The prescription no longer is prescribed that high nor is it given to anyone under the age of 18.Every roughly 5 minute appointment with him started with Are you in the North Pole or Africa Like what kind of question is that

Im surprised to see so many negative reviews. I have had ZERO issues with him or his staff. Ive seen other psychologists who just write prescriptions. Dr. Atallah spends time with me and talks about whats going on in my world. Another psychiatrist wrongly diagnosed me and gave me medications that harmed me. With regards to the wait time I have never experienced a wait thats any different from any hospital or doctors office. Ive rarely over my years on earth been called back at the exact time of my appointment. Having said that I still havent experienced waits at all. I normally walk right in. The amazing thing is that videoremote appointments are now available which is AWESOME It helps me with traveling in Atlanta traffic to see him. Ive only written this review because I was shocked to see so many negative reviews. Oh and as far as returned calls I have not had an issue with this either. I am also aware of how psychologists and psychiatrists offices work. They are usually small and privately run unless they are affiliated with a large companyhospital. My therapist sometimes answers her own phone at the office or I call her on her cell. Best.

We have been calling this office since before christmas to schedule an appointment to check in and refill my meds. Have not received any call back left tons of messages. We know theyre being looked at because one night the answering machine was full and the next day we were able to leave another message. This is essentially medical malpractice. We were able to find extra prescriptions for two of my meds at our pharmacy thank god but who knows what could have happened if not. We are completely out of my third med which thankfully isnt as important as the other two but still. What if it was We are lucky in our situation but I warn you. Dont EVER take your teenager or yourself here if you require important medications and value being called back. Unbelievably unprofessional.

While I did not go to this place I did go to another place in Smyrna that he was employed as a psychiatrist. While there everyone had about 5 min to talk to him but with me we only talked for 1 min 2 tops Also he randomly prescribed me sleeping medicine which I didnt need and dont want to take anything i dont need he never told me that he did it. Later that night when everyone was in the common room they called me and i was very surprised about that considering he barely talked to me and he forced me to take the sleeping medicine because he wrote it down I needed some. it took me two days after that before i could get off of them because when I told him he said he would take me off but then that night I had to take them again that night so the next day I had to tell him again and he finally took me off. Im surprised this man has a clinic if he cant do his job. This all happened 073118 to the 7th

When I was 17 he was my doctor at Ridgeview Institute in the childrens program at the hospital. He misdiagnosed me over-medicated me did not heed my complaints about the side-effects of the medications I was on charged my family for appointments he didnt even keep tried to FORCE me to take Chantix even though I was coming out of a drug-induced psychosis and Chantix is known to have dangerous psychological side-effects luckily the nurses didnt make me take it and told my mother that I was 1. too severe of a case to be helped by any psychiatrist who took insurance and 2. needed to go on disability when I turned 18 because I would never be a functional member of society. This man should never be allowed anywhere near sick hurting traumatized children. Hes condescending cold totally lacking in compassion rigid and an all-around bad doctor.

At this point I would give them ZERO stars They have NEVER answered the phone not once They will never return your numerous phone calls and voicemails. You literally have to drive to their office to EVER speak to someone. Medication refills Forget it Your child will be out of medicine and you cant even make an appointment without going to the office.... and then it will be at least a week before your child will get an appointment to get a prescription refill appointment.

We have never met Dr. Attalla in person however our son has as he was being treated in patient. Dr. Attalla had 72 hours legally to authorize the discharge of our son and he did not meet the deadline despite the fact that he saw our son in the first 24 hours of those 72 and never again afterwards. He also never communicated with us about our sons medical care and neither did the facility in which our son was being held.

Dr Attallah is very good however the office staff is HORRIBLE at answering calls and returning messages. I called for an urgent prescription refill when my kid was inadvertently released from hospital without refills...they NEVER called me back. Thank God I had enough to last until her next appt just a few days later but it was very close.

My wife just returned home after a visit with Dr. Attalla. It was a blessing that I was not available for this appointment. Per my wife she was asking questions on how to better serve our daughter and about the diagnosis and medication. His response was Are you the type of person who has to control everything Even while telling me this story it took her a while to compose herself. He knew very little about past visits with my daughter and didnt consult the colleague that has been seeing my daughter in his office. If I met with paying clients and didnt know anything Id be fired It was unbelievable that he asked my wife Why do care what my daughter does in school If she has behavior issues in school then let the school deal with it. What sane person tells that to a responsible parent Find yourself another doctor that truly cares about the child and parent.

Dr Attalla completely disregarded my concerns for my daughter. I made repeated appointments to have concern addressed per request of pediatrician. He dismissed my concerns saying my daughter was attention seeking and said she simply had spoiled child syndrome. Pediatrician referred me appropriately and it turns out my daughter is having seizures . Not only were the meds he precribed not safe to use together with the potential of death but they are also known to worsen seizure activity. He never truly interacted with my child. I went to him for two years because he accepted my insurance but I would advise parents to pay out of pocket if need be so that they see a provider that listens to you and your child and truly tries to get to know you and the child in order to best treat you. There are providers out there like that. Also frequently would call and it would take weeks to get a call back. Often times would have to wait 1- 2 12 hours in the waiting room because he was behind schedule and on 3 occasions showed up for appt with appt reminder card just to be told... Oops the doctor is out of town. I do not recommend. Im so thankful the lord protected my daughter and that she is alive. We will never be going back.
